A Life Built by Art, Discipline, and Craft

Some artists are taught.
Others are born with a quiet, unshakeable instinct to create.
Cysen is the latter.

His journey began in the late ’80s, when crayons and paper were his earliest companions. What started as simple childhood curiosity evolved into a lifelong devotion to form, detail, and beauty. Seeing his unusual focus, his parents enrolled him in formal art training—an early step that would shape the years ahead.

At ten years old, he earned acceptance into the prestigious Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, one of only thirty students selected for its elementary program. Even within such a structured environment, he remained independent, guided more by instinct and exploration than by rules.

From the beginning, his approach was absolute. He worked seven days a week until 2016, treating discipline not as sacrifice, but as necessity. For nearly a year, he tattooed without charge—focused solely on refining technique, control, and precision. Every line carried intent. Every piece was held to a standard he believed the craft demanded.

That devotion soon extended beyond borders. Beginning in 2013, he entered tattoo conventions across Canada and the United States, earning recognition for precision and consistency. What began as a personal challenge—100 awards—was surpassed within three years. To date, his work has earned 132 awards internationally.

As his studios expanded and his team grew, his reputation became defined by reliability at the highest level: work executed with consistency, clarity, and refusal to compromise.

Cysen’s work and studio have been consistently recognized by local media as among the city’s leading practitioners and establishments—acknowledged not once, but year after year.

Throughout its operation, his studio maintained a 4.9/5.0 Google rating, reflecting a sustained standard of quality rather than isolated success. Beyond the work itself, this record speaks to his approach to leadership: clear communication, professional accountability, and an environment built on trust—for both clients and collaborators.

Jewelry : The Art He Was Always Moving Toward

After years of building, refining, and leading within tattooing, Cysen reached a point of clarity. The craft had given him everything he set out to master. What followed was not restlessness, but recognition—an instinct pushing him toward a medium that could carry greater structural and material control.

His path had never been singular. Fashion design, retail, and over a decade running a tattoo studio each sharpened a different discipline: proportion, construction, responsibility, permanence. Jewelry brought those elements together—not as a departure, but as convergence.

In 2022, he formally entered jewelry design. The transition was instinctive. Years of visual balance, precision, and irreversible decision-making transferred seamlessly into metal and stone. His academic performance quickly reflected this foundation, earning recognition from instructors and competitive programs alike.

In 2023, he made a deliberate choice: stepping away from a successful, established business to commit fully to jewelry as his primary discipline.

He deepened his training through Gemological Institute of America, traveled internationally to study traditional craftsmanship, and immersed himself in the methods of master artisans—approaching jewelry not as an experiment, but as a long-term practice demanding the highest level of control and accountability.

Principle Over Product

For Cysen, jewelry is not approached as a commodity, nor as a single finished object. It is treated as an extension of artistic practice—one rooted in drawing, structure, proportion, and intention.

While many create jewelry as ornament or business, his work begins elsewhere. Years of formal art training shaped not only his ability to design, but his insistence on authorship. Every piece starts with a sketch, every decision informed by an understanding of form developed long before metal or stone enter the process.

Art comes first.
Jewelry follows.
Business comes only after.

This order is not philosophical—it is practical. It defines what he refuses to compromise, even when compromise would be easier or more profitable. He often spends disproportionate time refining elements that may go unnoticed by others. Details hidden from view are resolved with the same care as those on display, because perfection, to him, is not about visibility—it is about integrity.

Every piece begins with intention.
Every detail is deliberate.
Every design is built to endure—meant to be worn, lived with, and carried forward.

“I take my work seriously because clients trust me with more than a product. They trust me with something that becomes part of their story.”

The Journey Forward

Cysen’s path has never been shaped by trends or shortcuts. It is guided instead by mastery, longevity, and purpose—a lifelong commitment to craft that deepens rather than concludes.

He remains a student of art, continually refining his understanding of materials, form, and responsibility. Growth, for him, is not expansion, but precision.

Each step forward is refinement.
Each creation, an elevation of the craft.
